One of the first Cistercian monastic foundations in Portuguese territory, the Monastery of Alcobaça became the main house of this religious Order, thanks to a continued policy of royal protection initiated by D. Afonso Henriques.
The medieval dependencies still preserved make the Monastery a unique set in the world, to which must be added the later buildings, from the 16th to the 18th centuries, as an important testimony of the evolution of Portuguese architecture. With capacity for up to 800 people, the Monastery of Alcobaça can host the most varied events.
There is an ideal space for every event. That's why we have an exclusive and varied range of venues.
